Why should I use Nitrogen instead of compressed air?
Nitrogen is a dry gas free of moisture that doesn't deteriorate rubber like the ”wet oxygen” in compressed air. Nitrogen has a larger molecular structure and won't leak like oxygen. Nitrogen also makes tires less susceptible to air loss as temperatures change. Oxygen molecules are smaller than nitrogen and leak 3 to 4 times faster. Oxidation over time breaks down tire rubber and then it loses elasticity, strength and leaks even more. Nitrogen being dry reduces wheel corrosion and extends the tires usable life by up to 30%. Nitrogen maintains proper tire pressure which reduces running temperatures. This increases tire life, improves fuel economy and aids in the control of better braking and handling.
